i was thinking we could help our cooling systems out by doing the best we can by reducing combustion temperatures mabey some people would like to brainstorm on the topic and give input i use a cool can but still use regular 87 octane gasoline has anybody tried a trick of a fuel to lower engine temperatures feed back will be appreciated.

I'm not a engine type guy. I just get a stock engine running the best I can, and hope for the best. But I wish you good luck in test set-ups!

I got a buddy that had a really good built motor . Street motor infact . He couldn't run even premium gas because it would over heat fast . Try running some turbo blue in you gas mix . This might lower your tempretures . Now then some time back Sam Dargo posted an idea that made oodles and gobs of since . Last I knew sam was a diehard Chevy man , last I knew . He suggested circulating the water that's in the head better would reduce head tempretures . Thus lowering combustion chamber tempretures . Make since ?

Reverse circulation cooling maybe?

Some of the main reasoning behind higher octane fuels is, yes, it does burn hotter and takes a stronger spark to ignite it... but, in a motor that gets hot (derby motor), the lower octane fuel simply ignites earlier than it should or even as soon as it hits the super hot cylinder walls, mis-firing and predetination causes heat. Now, the higher oct. fuel might burn hotter, but it doesn't ignite until compressed and the plug fires, making the motor run correctly, thus cooler.

Hope I worded it to make some sense.
