SHIFTER TIPS & TRICKS

Auto shifter to suit all types of autos find a small front wheel drive car that is automatic like a Honda or Mitsubishi etc the shifters are usually cable operated most transmissions have the same shift pattern so the shifter will work on almost any auto box.
At the shifter end file or grind the gates from reverse through to low making sure you leave the gate where it locks into park this gives you the ability to go from reverse to low and back without hitting it into park.
The shifter can be mounted to the floor and a small cut in the floor to feed the cable through.
On the other end of the cable it should have a adjustment section so you can move the pin along the cable with nuts at either end of the pin this is good for final adjustments also on the cable there is a mounting point now this will vary from the model of car it was taken from but most can be mounted with a small bracket that will need to be fabricated make sure that you mount the cable up above the transmission pan so it doesn't get destroyed by a stray bumper.
Now the advantages of using a cable operated shifter is that the gearbox can move virtually anywhere and it will still select the gear you need.
