A radiator with a lightly damaged core can be made to hold water by using a silicone sealer for it to work properly you need to make sure the core has no oil on it then get the silicone sealer and apply to the area that is damaged get a piece of cardboard or a applicator and force it into the core this will need to be left over night to cure properly .if you put water in it straight away it will leak for sure I use this method on all my radiators .and have used some up to 5 times even when I've been hit in the front.
