Leaf Spring Tips

Complements, John Brophy

This will lift your rear end, and stiffen it up a ton! Great for a sagging rear, or better bumper height.

This is really easy. Jack the rear end up, and place the frame on jack stands so that the rear end hangs down (wheels off the ground). Take a chain, run it through (as in the picts) or around the frame, and wrap it around the leaf's rear hanger. Use a descent length piece of threaded rod (w. good washers) and tighten the chain down as tight as possible. Put the car back down, and wallah your done. If the car sits to high, jack it back up (!) and loosen the rod a little. (jack it up, or you'll probably strip the rod, once the weight of the car is on that chain, it'll be super taunt!). If the car isn't high enough, try tightening the chain some more. You don't want to skimp on the quality of chain here.. This chain will take some serious abuse! NOTE: After we ran this car, the chain popped off.. You're going to need to wrap the chain around the leaf hanger to keep it on there..
